Fort Myers Beach Parking: Where to Park in 2026
Parking is the number one question we get about downtown Fort Myers Beach. Here’s the short answer: spaces near Times Square are limited, some big lots are closed during the pier rebuild, and the easiest option is to stay somewhere with free parking and walk.

Is there free parking at Fort Myers Beach?
Most public parking on the island is paid, usually through a mobile app or pay-by-plate system. The free option is LeeTran’s Beach Park & Ride at 11101 Summerlin Square Drive, just off the island, where parking costs nothing and the trolley takes you onto Fort Myers Beach. Where to park at Fort Myers Beach
Town parking is marked with signs at beach access points and public lots, and private lots set their own rates. Arrive early on winter weekends and event days, when downtown fills up fast.
Closures during the pier rebuild
The Lynn Hall Memorial Park lot next to Times Square is closed while the Fort Myers Beach Pier is rebuilt; the contractors are using it as their staging area, and it isn’t expected to reopen until the pier is finished (about a year from August 2026), when it should have about 30% more spaces. The Chamber also lists the Bowditch Point lot as closed from September 8, 2026. Check the Chamber’s page before you go, since closures change.

Skip parking: trolley, tram and bikes
LeeTran’s beach trolley runs from the Park & Ride along the island, and a free seasonal tram runs through the busy north end from November through April. Stay where you can park once
