Why stay in downtown Fort Myers Beach?

Fort Myers Beach is a seven-mile island with one main road, Estero Boulevard. The south end is quiet and residential, and most trips from there mean driving and parking. Downtown, at the north end around Times Square, is the one part of the island where you can park once and walk everywhere: the beach, waterfront restaurants on Old San Carlos Boulevard and the bayfront, live music, shops, boat tours and the trolley.

That walkability matters more than it sounds. Parking downtown is tight, especially in winter and during the pier rebuild, and traffic on Estero Boulevard can crawl in season. We’re small on purpose. The Loft is three places to stay on one property on Third Street, owned and run by Chris and Jake, who live on site and have hosted for ten years as Airbnb Superhosts. You won’t get a call center or a lockbox code from a management company; you’ll get a text back from the people who cleaned and stocked your place.

Every stay includes the things you’d otherwise rent or buy: beach chairs, umbrellas, a cooler, a wagon and bikes, plus a free parking space and a BBQ grill to share. And when you book here, you book direct with the owners, with no booking-site service fees.

The Octopus Loft is a top-floor, condo-style one-bedroom with a full kitchen and a large private deck. The Turtle Suite is a cozy one-bedroom with a king bed, a rainfall shower for two and a kitchenette. The Main House, which opened in September 2026, is our two-bedroom, 2.5-bath rental for up to four. All three share free parking, free bikes and beach gear, and all are reached by stairs.
